The Building Planning Law (LOE) regulates the building process since 1999, as well as establishing the general framework in which the quality of buildings can be promoted and, finally, the commitment to establish sufficient guarantees for users against possible damage.
Specifically, its purpose is to regulate the building process in its essential aspects, establishing the obligations and responsibilities of the agents involved in said process, as well as the necessary guarantees for its proper development, in order to ensure quality through compliance with the basic requirements of buildings and adequate protection of the interests of users.
HeTechnical Building Code (CTE) together with complementary regulations regulates since 2006 the construction ofbuildingsinSpain. It establishes the basic safety and habitability requirements of the buildings previously defined in the LOE.
